As a keto dieter (for part of the year, lol), I was always confused by how the Japanese stay so skinny when they eat rice and noodles every day. After visiting Japan, I could see why:
- Everyone walks everywhere, even old people.
- Tipping is not a thing, which encourages people to eat fresh food at sit-down restaurants.
- Eating fresh food every day — even if it's carbs — will beat any diet that consists of processed food and refined sugars.
I could see myself living in Japan, happily eating rice every day, and still maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
