Tori on changing her sound while staying true to herself:
Elle: When you first played "Nobody Love" for your friends, their initial reaction to the big-sounding pop track was, "Oh, this is really different for you." Do you feel like you had to change your musical style in any way to create what you think people want to hear?
Tori: Rather than changing it feels more like a growth. The style of music I was doing was a little older sounding, a little more singer-songwriter, which I still love. But I grew up listening to so many different things that I think it's just a new chapter. Like any artist you kind of evolve and grow into different versions of yourself. But at the end of the day it's still me. And I don't think I'm departing from that more acoustic side, either. There are definitely still those moments on the album. That was really important for me to keep.

Sam's Tilted Kilt Coming Soon! →
The turn lane is done, the building is up and the new Tilted Kilt Pub & Eatery on Airport Road with a walking path to the movies anticipates a Jan. 19 opening.
The Celtic-themed sports bar will seat 317 diners indoors and out, with more than 60 TVs, 10 on a 1,500-foot patio under cover "with a real roof and people will be protected if the wind picks up or it rains," said first-time franchisee Samir Changela of Delray Beach. His management crew has 30 years of experience, he said.
The inside bar will seat 25, but patrons shouldn't expect a noisy room, said Changela. "Our ceiling has noise reduction insulation to absorb the reverb and echo, and we even did soundproofing on the patio," he said.
Another location of the casual dining spot opened at 219 S. Andrews Ave. in downtown Fort Lauderdale in November. Changela's site at 3320 Airport Road not only has high visibility from Interstate 95, but there's also a walkway from the parking lot of Cinemark Palace 20 and XD.
The owner thinks that's a big plus, and hopes to attract moviegoers looking for a burger, wings and a beer early or late, not to mention students. "We'll be open until midnight on weekdays and 2 a.m. on the weekends," he said.
SO STOKED.
Jeremy's Proposal

Aileen in Phoenix 9 →
Independent film director Amir Reichart has created one of this year’s best short films, taking audiences on an epic voyage through earth’s barren wasteland after a global nuclear war.
‘Phoenix 9′ features stunning special effects, apocalyptic landscapes, and follows a group of survivors struggling to make it to a post-war colony. During their 1000 mile struggle they stagger on a secret installation that offers them a new hope for survival.
The work is meticulous and the visuals are on-par with a Roland Emmerich disaster movie. This kind of Hollywood panache is rarely seen in a low budget environment but the painstaking work of the whole team, and the approach from the film’s director makes this a must-watch.
omg, it's Post-Apocalyptic Lavendaire! hahahah love this

Carissa & Michael to Tour with Oprah →
After Oprah Winfrey saw Fox's upcoming animated feature The Book of Life, she became so enthralled by the end-credits song that she had the act booked for the U.S. tour of her "The Life You Want Weekend."
Us the Duo, the first musical act to become established via Vine, will be the featured musical act during the Oprah tour, which starts Friday in Atlanta and wraps Nov. 14-15 in San Jose, Calif. [...]
"Oprah fell in love with the movie and she heard about us, the song 'No Matter Where You Are' and our story," says Michael Alvarado, who shares the stage with his wife Carissa. "The team was really excited to pitch her the idea of bringing us on the tour and it became another beautiful marriage of missions colliding." [...]
"Once we met the team and they heard our story, they were taken aback by how much our story was like the story in the movie -- follow your passion, follow your heart," Carissa said. "It's a dream come true to have a song in a move, so surreal to see it all happening."
Congrats, guys!
